Question

The length, breadth and height of a cuboid are in the ratio 5 : 4 : 2. If the volume of the cuboid is 5000 cm3, then what will be the total surface area of the cuboid?

SSC GD 2018 Question Paper Hindi (11-Mar-2019) (Shift 3)
The correct answer is

1900 cm2

Volume of a cuboid = l × b × h; total surface area = 2(lb + bh + hl).

Let l = 5x, b = 4x, h = 2x.
5x × 4x × 2x = 40x3 = 5000
x3 = 125
x = 5

l = 25 cm, b = 20 cm, h = 10 cm

TSA = 2(25 × 20 + 20 × 10 + 10 × 25)
= 2(500 + 200 + 250)
= 2 × 950
= 1900 cm2

Hence, 1900 cm2.
