The first volume of ‘Akbar Nama’ focuses on which of the following?
Akbar’s ancestors
The ‘Akbarnama’ (Book of Akbar) is the official chronicle of the reign of the Mughal emperor Akbar, written in Persian by his court historian Abul Fazl.
The work is arranged in three volumes, each with a distinct focus.
The first volume opens with the history of Akbar’s ancestors, tracing the lineage from Timur down through Babur and Humayun, along with the events surrounding Akbar’s birth.
Because the first volume is devoted to this genealogy and family background, the correct choice is Akbar’s ancestors.
‘Events of Akbar’s reign’ describes the second volume, which narrates the political and military happenings of his rule, so it is not the first volume’s focus.
‘Geography of the Mughal Empire’ is not a subject of the first volume, and the third volume, the Ain-i-Akbari, deals with administration and statistics rather than ancestry.
Hence the first volume of the Akbarnama focuses on Akbar’s ancestors.
