The correct answer is

Positivism

Positivism is a philosophical paradigm which holds that reality exists objectively, independent of the observer, and that true knowledge can only be obtained through direct observation, measurement, and empirical testing of hypotheses.
Because it demands data that can be measured, counted, and statistically analysed, positivism is the philosophical base on which quantitative research methods such as surveys, structured experiments, and statistical hypothesis testing are built.
Interpretivism and Constructivism take the opposite view: they see reality and knowledge as socially constructed and multiple, and therefore rely on qualitative methods (interviews, case studies, ethnography) to capture subjective meaning.
Symbolism deals with how symbols convey meaning in communication and is not a recognised philosophy of research methodology.
Since quantitative methods depend on objective measurement and statistical verification, they are correctly placed under Positivism.
