In Tamil nadu Khilafat Day was observed on
17 April 1920
The Khilafat Movement was launched by Indian Muslims to protest against the harsh treatment of the Ottoman Sultan (the Khalifa) by the Allies after the First World War, and Gandhiji linked it with the Non-Cooperation Movement.
In the Madras Presidency the movement was supported by leaders such as Rajaji, Periyar E.V. Ramasamy and local Muslim leaders, and meetings were organised throughout the Tamil districts.
As part of this all-India campaign, a Khilafat Day was observed in Tamil Nadu on 17 April 1920, before the Non-Cooperation Movement was formally launched later that year.
Hence, 17 April 1920.
