Question

If '+' means 'x', '-' means '÷', 'x' means '+' and '÷' means '-', then 7 + 7 + 7 - 7 x 7 ÷ 7 = ?

This question was previously asked in
RRB JE 2018 CBT 1 Question Paper (01-Jun-2019) Shift 3
The correct answer is

49

49 is correct.

Replace each sign by its meaning: '+' becomes \(\times\), '-' becomes \(\div\), 'x' becomes '+' and '÷' becomes '-'.

The expression becomes \(7 \times 7 \times 7 \div 7 + 7 - 7\).

By BODMAS: \(7 \times 7 \times 7 = 343\), then \(343 \div 7 = 49\), and finally \(49 + 7 - 7 = 49\).
