Question

If 45% 11 = 7, 59 % 34 = 7 then what is the value of 55 % 4 = ?

This question was previously asked in
SSC CGL 2017 (Tier 1) Previous Year Paper (16-Aug-2017) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

6

The rule is: \(A\,\%\,B = (\text{digit sum of }A) - (\text{digit sum of }B)\).

Check: \((4+5)-(1+1)=9-2=7\) and \((5+9)-(3+4)=14-7=7\).

Apply: \(55\,\%\,4 = (5+5) - 4 = 10 - 4 = 6\). Hence the answer is 6.
