The correct answer is

72 cm²

We are given a trapezium with parallel sides 8.4 cm and 10.8 cm, and the perpendicular distance (height) between them equal to 7.5 cm.

The area of a trapezium is found using the standard formula \(\text{Area}=\tfrac{1}{2}\times(\text{sum of parallel sides})\times \text{height}\).

Substituting the given values: \(\text{Area}=\tfrac{1}{2}\times(8.4+10.8)\times 7.5\)

First add the two parallel sides: \(8.4+10.8=19.2\) cm.

Now multiply by the height: \(19.2\times 7.5=144\).

Finally take half of this product: \(\tfrac{1}{2}\times 144=72\) cm².

Hence the area of the trapezium is 72 cm².
