The correct answer is

SVOA

Sentence patterns break a sentence into its functional parts: Subject = S, Verb = V, Object = O, Complement = C, Adverbial/Adjunct = A, and Indirect and Direct Objects = IO and DO.

Step 1 — ‘His words’ is the Subject, S: it names the doer of the action.

Step 2 — ‘filled’ is the Verb, V, a transitive verb that needs an object.

Step 3 — ‘them’ is the Object, O: it receives the action of filling.

Step 4 — ‘with terror’ is a prepositional phrase that tells how / with what they were filled; it works as an Adverbial, A, not as a complement describing ‘them’. The pattern is therefore S + V + O + A.

SVOC would need a noun or adjective complement that renames or describes the object (e.g. ‘They made him captain’). SVCA has no object, but ‘them’ is clearly an object here. SVIODO needs two objects (e.g. ‘He gave me a book’), and the sentence has only one.

SVOA option is correct.
