This question was previously asked in
SSC CGL 2017 (Tier 1) Previous Year Paper (16-Aug-2017) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

5500

Compound-interest amount formula:

\[A = P\left(1+\tfrac{r}{100}\right)^n = P(1.12)^3\]

\((1.12)^3 = 1.404928\), so

\[P = \frac{7727.104}{1.404928} = 5500\]

Therefore principal = Rs 5500.
