When one member struggles to locate online information, the pedagogically sound response is to seek assistance from his group members and discuss possible research sources together. This keeps him inside the collaborative process, builds his information-literacy skills, and uses the group as intended.
Asking the teacher to simply hand over the information defeats the inquiry purpose and creates dependence. Relying solely on his own efforts ignores the collaborative design and may leave him stuck. Abandoning the project is clearly the weakest, giving-up response.
