Institute of Banking Personnel and Selection determines the exam pattern and syllabus for IBPS RRB Exam. The syllabus is based on 5 subjects. They are Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability/ Quantitative Aptitude, English/Hindi language, Computer Awareness and General knowledge.
Before moving to the section wise syllabus for prelims and mains paper, candidates must check the exam pattern for both Office Assistant and officer Scale-I posts.
IBPS RRB Exam is conducted in online mode only having objective type questions in both Hindi and English Languages. There is a provision of negative marking for all the wrong attempts made by a candidate. The paper pattern for Preliminary and Mains Examination is described below:
IBPS conducts preliminary exam for Office Assistant and Officer scale-I posts only. For both the posts the paper pattern is similar. In IBPS RRB Preliminary Examination, a total of 80 questions are asked from 2 sections. Number of questions from each section is 40. The total time allotted to solve these 80 questions is 45 minutes. The only difference is in the syllabus. The syllabus for preliminary exam of both the posts are given below:
Office Assistant: The Paper of Office Assistant has 40 questions each from Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability.
Officer Scale-I: The Paper of Officer Scale I also has 40 questions each from Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.
Candidates need to obtain minimum IBPS RRB Cut off in both the subjects to clear the preliminary exam. In IBPS RRB Mains Examination, a total of 200 questions are asked from 5 sections. Number of questions from each section is 40. The total time allotted to solve these 200 questions is 2 hours.The syllabus for Mains exam of Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I is given below:
Office Assistant: The Paper has five sections- Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability, English/Hindi Language, Computer Awareness and General Knowledge.
Officer Scale-I: The Paper has five sections- Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, English/Hindi Language, Computer Awareness and General Knowledge.
