IBPS RRB Syllabus

IBPS RRB Exam Pattern is released by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). IBPS RRB 2020 Exam Pattern has not seen any changes i.e. it will remain similar to that of previous years’ pattern. Knowing about the pattern will help a candidate to prepare for IBPS RRB exam in a better way.

The IBPS RRB Application form for Officers scale I and Office Assistant was re-opened on 26 October 2020. The candidates will be able to form the application form till 9 November 2020. The application form is re-opened for those interested candidates, who have qualified the previously held Main exam.

  • IBPS RRB is conducted to recruit aspirants in various Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across India. Apply Now
  • The exam is conducted for 2 Groups namely Group A (Scale I, Scale II, Scale III), and Group B (Office Assistant). 
  • IBPS RRB 2020 Exam Pattern differs for Scale I, II, III, and Office Assistant posts.

IBPS RRB 2020 Important Dates

IBPS, conducting body of RRB exam has released the official dates for the exam. Candidates can go through the following table to know about the same:

IBPS RRB 2020 Exam Pattern

IBPS RRB Exam Pattern slightly varies as per the posts. However, some of the features are common for all prelims and main exam which are mentioned below:

  • The exams will be conducted in online mode that is computer-based test.
  • Each paper has objective type multiple choice questions only
  • Candidates will have an option to answer the questions in Hindi or English language.
  • Also, they will have to choose between English and Hindi as one of the section for the exam.
  • There is a provision of negative marking as well. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 or ¼ mark will be deducted.

IBPS RRB 2020 Exam Pattern-Office Assistant

Candidates appearing for the post of Office Assistant have to go through 2 Phases- Preliminary and Main exam.

Note: For the post of Office Assistants (multipurpose) there is no Interview round, marks obtained only in the main examination will be considered for final merit listing.

IBPS RRB 2020 Exam Pattern (Officer Scale I)

Candidates appearing for Scale I have to go through 2 Phases-Prelims and Main in order to get shortlisted for Personal Interview Round.

Candidates qualifying Main exam will then have to attend IBPS RRB Common Interview round. In this round, a candidate’s personality and communication skills will be examined. Check Cutoff

IBPS RRB Exam Pattern–Officer Scale-II

Candidates applying for Officer Scale-II will have to appear for a single online examination and successful candidates will be shortlisted to appear for Common Interview for final recruitment in various RRBs. Scale II has 2 posts to offer which are as follows:

  • Scale II – General Banking Officer
  • Scale II –  Specialist Cadre

The exam pattern for Scale II of IBPS RRB is different in terms of sections and timings. Mentioned below are the patterns for both the posts.

IBPS RRB 2020 Exam Pattern–Officer Scale III

Candidates applying for Scale III will have to appear for a single online examination. Candidates qualifying the exam will then have to attend the common interview round. The exam is scheduled September 22, 2020.
