UPSC CAPF Cutoff - Previous Years' Cutoff and Qualifying Marks

UPSC CAPF Cutoff is the minimum marks that candidates must obtain to qualify for the next stages and final selection. UPSC CAPF 2021 Cutoff will be released after the completion of each stage. The cutoff is declared after announcing the UPSC CAPF Result.

Crash Course

Candidates except Ex-servicemen have to score a minimum of 25% (50 marks) in Paper-II. Ex-servicemen candidates have to score a minimum of 15% (30 marks) in Paper-II. At the time of preparation, candidates can download CAPF AC Previous Question Papers for better understanding.

UPSC CAPF Cutoff 2021 - Types Of Cutoff

The UPSC releases the cutoff marks in two stages such as CAPF Cutoff for the Written exam and the final cutoff. The points have been elaborated below:

Cutoff Marks of CAPF Written Tests: 

Candidates must obtain the minimum qualifying marks to be shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process. Here are the qualifying marks. 

Category CAPF Paper 1 & 2 cutoff CAPF Paper 2
General/OBC/ SC/ ST 15% (450 marks) 25%
Ex-Servicemen 10%

CAPF Final Cutoff Marks

The final UPSC CAPF cutoff is the aggregate score of the CAPF written exam and interview. The final Central Armed Police Forces cutoff is calculated out of 600 marks in total. The final selection of each candidate will be made based on their position in the final merit list. 

Factors Affecting Cutoff

Factors Affecting UPSC CAPF Cut off

The cutoff marks depend on various factors and can be indicative of the overall performance of candidates. Some of the factors are discussed in detail here.

  • UPSC CAPF Cutoff marks will depend on the number of candidates who appear for the exam.
  • It will also depend on the number of vacancies available.
  • The reservation applicable for different categories affects the cutoff for an exam as well.
  • The level of difficulty of the UPSC CAPF Question Paper plays a role in defining the UPSC CAPF cutoff score. Easier the paper, higher the cutoff, tougher the paper, lower the cutoff.

Other miscellaneous factors may also contribute to deciding the cutoff figure. UPSC will declare the cutoff at the time of announcing the UPSC CAPF Final Result. Candidates must accept the decision as the cutoff score cannot be contested.

Expected Cutoff

UPSC CAPF 2021 Expected Cutoff 

The final UPSC CAPF Cutoff will be released after the completion of the CAPF (ACs) recruitment process. The cutoff marks will release for each stage of the exam. Here are the expected cutoff marks for CAPF 2021 exam:

Hi. Candidates need to get the minimum qualifying marks to be shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process. The qualifying marks for the General/OBC/ SC/ ST category is 15% (450 marks) in paper 1 and 2.

Sir please tell me , why is cut off for EBC category is not mentioned.

The exam is yet to be conducted in August 2021 and cut off for different categories will be out once the results are declared. The relaxation in eligibility and cut off will be granted to reserved category as per the guidelines of the state govt. only. For last year relaxation in cut off was provided to categories of SC, ST, OBC and Ex-Servicemen.

Greetings from Collegedunia. The cut-off for Paper 1  and Paper 2 in UPSC CAPF is fixed by UPSC based on various criteria and if you have cleared Paper 1 then Paper 2 answer will be evaluated.
