Every year, the State Bank of India (SBI) conducts various examinations to select qualified candidates to fill vacancies for various posts in various branches spread across the country. SBI Clerk Exam is one of the exams which is popular among banking. This examination is conducted in two stages - preliminary and main. Preliminary examination

This is the first phase of the SBI Clerk Examination, through which the eligible candidates will be selected for the next round of examination. This is the online entrance exam There will be 100 different multiple-choice questions

The SBI Clerk Preliminary Examination will consist of the following sections:

  • Reasoning ability
  • English language
  • Numerical ability

The total duration of SBI Preliminary Examination: 1 hour

In case of a wrong answer, candidates will get a deduction of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer.

Mains Exam

The main exam will have 190 objective type questions for 200 marks. Questions will appear from different sections like

  1. General / Financial Awareness,
  2. General English,
  3. Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability
  4. Computer Aptitude.
    1. The General / Financial Awareness section will have 50 questions for 50 marks which the candidate has to complete in 35 minutes.
    2. In the General English section, 40 questions have to be completed in 35 minutes for 40 marks.
    3. The Quantitative Aptitude will consist of 50 questions for 50 marks, to be completed in 45 minutes.
    4. Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude section will have 50 questions for 60 marks which are to be completed in 45 minutes.
    5. There will be negative marking for every wrong answer; One-fourth digit will be deducted

  • Those who complete the exam are required to be placed in descending order in each category.
