The correct answer is

Slowly pour resin while tapping the joint body

Sound cast-resin insulation depends on the resin filling every space around the conductors without trapping air, because voids are weak spots where the electric field concentrates and partial discharge begins.

During epoxy casting in a cable joint, air can be caught in the mould as the resin is introduced, and unless it is released it forms these harmful voids.

Pouring the resin slowly lets the liquid creep into every gap and gives trapped air time to rise, while gently tapping the joint body shakes bubbles loose so they float up and escape before the resin sets.

Pouring the resin quickly to beat the hardening time does the opposite, whipping in and sealing air pockets rather than releasing them.

Mixing the resin near the joint after sealing, or sealing the joint body before pouring, both close off the escape route so any entrained air stays inside as voids.

The slow, tapped pour is therefore the technique that actively drives the air out and prevents void formation.
