The Railway Recruitment Board organizes the RRB Junior Engineer (JE) exam for recruiting aspirants from the engineering and science background. The exam conducting authority targets to fill several technical positions in the Indian Railways. The Railway JE is a centralized exam, which is conducted as an online computer-based test (CBT). The aspirants, who are belonging from the age group of 18 years to 33 years, are eligible to apply for the exam. The registration process of RRB JE 2021 will be completed into three parts. RRB JE Eligibility 2021

RRB JE eligibility criteria 2021 is depending upon three factors, which are nationality, age group, and educational qualification. 


  • Indian citizen
  • The subject of Bhutan/ Nepal
  • Tibetan refugees who had migrated to India before 1 January 1962 with permanent settlement intentions.
  • The candidates, who migrated to Burma, Pakistan, Vietnam, Burma, East African countries (such as Malawi, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Zaire, Zambia, United Republic of Tanzania) but have the intention of permanently living in India.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 33 years

Educational Qualification

  • Three years of Diploma in the relevant stream
  • B.E/B.Sc Degree/ B.Tech in the relevant stream
RRB JE Application Process

RRB JE Application Process 2021

  • Visit the official website of RRB JE that is the
  • Choose and open the district from where the aspirants are belonging or are willing to apply for the same
  • Next, the aspirants have to register their names by providing detailed information like the Name, valid Email ID, and mobile number.
  • After that, the candidates need to login into their registered account by providing the generated registration number and the password.
  • Now, the candidates should provide the essential details such as personal and educational details, which are mentioned in the application form.
  • The registration process will be completed once the payment will be done.

Documents Required to Fill the RRB JE Application Form

  • Passport-sized photograph of the aspirants
  • Signature of the candidates
  • Photo ID
  • Marksheet of 10th and 12th

While filing the RRB JE 2021 application form, the aspirants have to upload the scanned image of the photograph and signature. The photograph should be clicked recently and it should be in passport-sized format. A white background image is more preferable for uploading the images. On the other hand, the signature should be done preferably in black or blue ink. 

RRB JE 2021 Application Fee

To complete the application fee payment process, the aspirants can opt for both the online and offline modes. In the case of the online fee payment process, the aspirants can use the credit/debit/visa/Rupay/Mastercard or they can rely on the internet banking process. On the other hand, in case of the offline fee payment process, the applicants should complete the payment through E-Challan where the cash has to be deposited to the SBI Bank. The application fee of the General category candidates is Rs. 500, whereas, the SC/ST candidates have to pay Rs. 250 while filling the RRB JE Application form.

RRB JE Admit Card 2021

RRB will release an e-Call letter on the online portal. The aspirants will receive the updates related to the RRB JE admit card on the registered email ID/ mobile number. To download the RRB JE admit card, the aspirants should go through the following steps:

  • Click on the RRB JE admit card download link
  • Enter the required details such as registration number and password to login your window
  • Provide the registration number and date of birth to download the call letter
  • Download the admit card, once it is displaying on the screen
  • The aspirants should take e print out of the admit card for future reference

RRB JE Salary 2021

The basic salary of RRB JE is INR 35,400 per month. The candidates will be eligible to avail the additional benefits like dearness allowances, HRA, and other perks once the training is completed. What is the Application fees, I belong to SC category, how much do I need to pay?

Hi Tanishka. The RRB JE Recruitment application will be invited from the candidates after the notification is released. The candidates are given a time period of 25 to 30 days to fill the application form online. The application fee is INR 500 for the ones belonging to the unreserved category while its INR 250 for the SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PwBDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class.

Hi Tanishka. CBT exam is conducted in multiple sessions for the same syllabus and each session will have different question paper. The raw marks obtained by the candidates are converted into normalised marks to give them all a level playing field. The raw marks for single session paper and normalized marks for the multi-session paper are considered for calculating Merit Index, which is a common benchmark for generating merit for candidates from different exam groups.

Is there RRB JE Medical Examination?

After the Document verification stage, the qualified candidates need to qualify the medical test as per the given medical standards for each exam group in the official notification. The Medical examination is conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure the medical fitness of the qualified candidates.

Is there negative marking for wrong attempts in RRB JE paper II?

The RRB JE CBT 2 is an objective type test having 150 questions to be solved in 120 minutes.
