Our solar system includes the Sun and everything gravitationally bound to it: planets, dwarf planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and dust.
Analyzing Celestial Bodies
Let's examine each option to see if it belongs to our solar system:
- Europa: A moon orbiting Jupiter. Since Jupiter is a planet in our solar system, Europa is also part of it.
- Moon: The natural satellite orbiting Earth. Earth is a planet in our solar system, making the Moon part of it.
- Pole Star: Also known as Polaris, this is a star in the constellation Ursa Minor. It is located in a different star system, far outside our own solar system.
- Sun: The star at the center of our solar system, providing light and heat to all the planets and other bodies.
Identifying the Outlier
Based on the analysis, the Sun, Europa (as Jupiter's moon), and the Moon (as Earth's moon) are all integral parts of our solar system. The Pole Star, however, is a distant star belonging to another system entirely.
Therefore, the Pole Star is NOT a part of our solar system.
