Poverty line ratio

The Human Development Index (HDI), published by the UNDP, is a composite measure built from three dimensions:

1. A long and healthy life, measured by life expectancy at birth.

2. Knowledge, measured by the education index (mean years of schooling and expected years of schooling).

3. A decent standard of living, measured by Gross National Income (GNI) per capita in purchasing-power terms.

So education index, life expectancy and GNI per capita are all HDI components. The poverty line ratio (headcount of people below the poverty line) is a poverty measure used in indices like the Multidimensional Poverty Index, but it is not part of the HDI.

Hence, the indicator that is NOT a component of the HDI is the poverty line ratio.
