When will the next, US presidential Election be held?
3 rd November, 2020
The correct answer is 3 rd November, 2020.
Each state is allocated a number of electors based on its total number of representatives in Congress (House + Senate). The candidate who wins the popular vote in a state typically receives all of that state's electoral votes (except in Maine and Nebraska). A candidate needs a majority of the total electoral votes (currently 270 out of 538) to win the presidency. The electors meet in mid-December to cast their votes, which are then counted and certified in Congress in early January.
