The correct answer is

Edgar Dale

The 'Cone of Experience' is a visual model that arranges learning experiences from the most concrete (direct, purposeful, first-hand experience) at the broad base of the cone to the most abstract (verbal symbols and words) at the narrow apex. It illustrates that learners retain more when learning moves from doing to observing to abstract symbolisation. This model was proposed by the American educationist Edgar Dale in his work on audio-visual methods in teaching.

The other names are associated with different contributions: John Dewey is linked with pragmatism, learning by doing and reflective thinking; William H. Kilpatrick is known for the Project Method; and Friedrich Froebel is the originator of the Kindergarten and play-based early education. None of them formulated the Cone of Experience.

Correct answer: Edgar Dale
