The correct answer is

10Ω

When resistors are connected in series, the same current flows through each of them, and the equivalent resistance is simply the sum of the individual resistances: \(R_{eq} = R_1 + R_2\).

Substituting the given values, \(R_{eq} = 4\,\Omega + 6\,\Omega = 10\,\Omega\).

So the combined resistance of the two resistors connected in series is 10 ohms, which is always greater than either individual resistance in a series combination.
