The correct answer is

Contiguity, Similarity, Causation

David Hume, the Scottish empiricist, held in A Treatise of Human Nature (1739) and An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding (1748) that ideas are connected in the mind by a 'gentle force' of association, which he compared to gravitation in the mental world.

He named three principles of connexion among ideas: resemblance (similarity), contiguity in time or place, and cause and effect (causation). For example, a picture leads us to think of the original (resemblance), mention of one room leads to thoughts of the next (contiguity), and a wound leads us to think of the pain that follows (causation).

Familiarity, differential grouping and continuity were not among Hume's laws; frequency and vividness were added by later associationists such as Thomas Brown, and continuity is a Gestalt grouping principle.

Hence, the answer is Contiguity, Similarity, Causation.
