Ram leaves his house at 20 mins to seven in the morning, reaches Kunal's house in 25 mins. They finish their breakfast in another 15 mins and leave for their office which takes another 35 minutes. At what time do they leave Kunal's house to reach their office?

SSC CGL 2016 (Tier 1) Previous Year Question Paper (11-Sep-2016) (Shift 2)
The correct answer is
7:20 Α.Μ

Step 1: Determine Ram's arrival time at Kunal's house.

Ram leaves his house at 20 minutes to seven, which means 6:40 AM. He takes 25 minutes to reach Kunal's house. Therefore, he arrives at Kunal's house at 6:40 AM + 25 minutes = 7:05 AM.

Step 2: Calculate the time they finish breakfast.

They spend 15 minutes having breakfast. So, they finish breakfast at 7:05 AM + 15 minutes = 7:20 AM.

Step 3: Determine their office departure time.

Therefore, they leave Kunal's house to go to the office at 7:20 AM.

Step 4: Eliminate incorrect options.

  • Option 1 (7:40 AM) is incorrect because it's after they finished breakfast.
  • Option 3 (7:45 AM) is incorrect because it's also after breakfast and includes additional time.
  • Option 4 (8:15 AM) is incorrect as it includes the travel time to the office.

Therefore, the correct answer is 7:20 AM.
