One person travels at a speed of 12 kmph on the surface of an equilateral triangle, 24 kmph and 8 kmph, Find the average speed of it. (In kmph)
12
The person covers the three equal sides of the equilateral triangle at 12, 24 and 8 km/h. Let each side be \(d\) km.
Total time = \(\frac{d}{12} + \frac{d}{24} + \frac{d}{8} = \frac{2d + d + 3d}{24} = \frac{6d}{24} = \frac{d}{4}\) hours.
Average speed = \(\frac{\text{Total distance}}{\text{Total time}} = \frac{3d}{d/4} = 12\) km/h.
Hence, the average speed is 12 kmph.
