Which of the following turned the Sikhs into a military sect?
Guru Gobind Singh
Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, founded the Khalsa at Anandpur Sahib on Baisakhi day in 1699, which transformed the Sikh community into a disciplined military brotherhood.
He introduced the baptism ceremony (Khande di Pahul), the five Ks and the surname Singh for men, giving Sikhs a distinct martial identity to resist Mughal oppression.
Guru Teg Bahadur and Guru Arjan Dev were martyred by the Mughals but did not create a military order; Guru Hargobind had begun arming Sikhs, but the formal military sect came with the Khalsa. Banda Bahadur ('Banda Brave') was a later commander who led the Khalsa after Guru Gobind Singh.
Hence, the answer is Guru Gobind Singh.
