Read both the statements and decide the appropriate answer. Among five sticks, V, H, Y, D and N, each having a different height, which stick is the shortest? (I) N is taller than Y. (II) D is taller than N. V is only shorter than one stick.

RRB Group D 2025 Question Paper (18-Aug-2026) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

Both statements I and II together are NOT sufficient to answer the question

Statement I only ranks N above Y, and statement II only adds that D is above N and that V is second tallest, but together they still leave the relative position of H undetermined, so the shortest stick cannot be fixed. Hence, both statements together are NOT sufficient is correct.
