Question

Direction : Study the following bar graph and answer the questions that follow :

Customers receiving service during morning and evening shifts in Branches A, B, C, D and E

Figure

If the Morning Shift customers at Branch A double, and those at Branch E decrease by 20%, what is the difference between the revised number of Morning Shift customers at these two branches ?

This question was previously asked in
UPSSSC PET 2026 Question Paper (25-Oct-2026) (Shift-2)
The correct answer is

20

From the bar graph, Morning Shift customers are 150 at Branch A and 350 at Branch E.

Revised Branch A \(= 150 \times 2 = 300\) and revised Branch E \(= 350 \times \frac{80}{100} = 280\).

Difference \(= 300 - 280 = 20\).

Check: 20% of 350 is 70, and \(350 - 70 = 280\), so the difference from 300 is 20.

Hence, 20.
