Question

If confidence level is 90% then two tailed alpha would be ________ %.

This question was previously asked in
SSC CGL 2017 (Tier 1) Previous Year Paper (16-Aug-2017) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

5

Total significance level \(\alpha=1-0.90=0.10=10\%\). For a two-tailed test this is split equally, giving \(\alpha/2=5\%\) in each tail. Hence the per-tail alpha is 5%.
