The correct answer is

With a drill chuck

The tailstock barrel of a lathe is bored with an internal Morse taper socket. A cutting tool can be mounted in it either by a matching taper shank or through a holder that grips the tool.

A straight-shank drill has a plain parallel shank with no taper, so it cannot seat and drive directly in the Morse-taper socket; it needs a holder that clamps its parallel shank.

A drill chuck provides exactly this. Its three jaws close together to grip the straight shank and self-centre the drill on the axis.

The chuck itself carries a taper arbor that fits into the tailstock barrel, so the whole assembly seats securely in the tailstock.

A Morse taper (option 3) suits only taper-shank drills, not a straight-shank one, so it cannot hold this drill directly.

A sleeve adapter (option 4) merely enlarges a small taper to fit a bigger socket and still needs a taper shank, and a dog carrier (option 1) is a turning driver, not a drill holder, so neither grips a straight shank.

Hence, the answer is With a drill chuck.
