For detecting errors in teaching-learning process, the appropriate data collection tool will be .......... .
Diagnostic test
Different tests serve different purposes in the teaching-learning process. An achievement test measures how much a learner has learnt, a standardized test compares a learner with a norm group, and a post-test measures performance after a programme of instruction.
A diagnostic test is built to locate the specific points where learners go wrong, such as particular concepts, steps or skills, and to identify the causes of those errors. Its items are analysed one by one so that the teacher can plan remedial teaching. Detecting errors in the teaching-learning process is exactly this purpose.
Achievement tests, standardized tests and post-tests give an overall score, which shows how well a learner performed but not where and why errors occurred.
Diagnostic test option is correct.
