Dr. Bhupen Hazarika is famously known by which of the following titles, reflecting his deep connection to the geography and spirit of Assam?
Bard of Brahmaputra
The question asks for the well-known title given to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, tied to the geography and spirit of Assam.
Bhupen Hazarika was a celebrated singer, lyricist, poet, music composer and film-maker from Assam, honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Bharat Ratna.
Much of his work celebrated the land and people of Assam and, above all, the mighty Brahmaputra river, which became central to his poetic identity.
For this reason he is popularly remembered as the 'Bard of Brahmaputra', a sobriquet capturing his deep bond with the river and the region.
Alternatives such as 'Son of Brahmaputra', 'Voice of Brahmaputra' or 'Kala Guru of Assam' are not the title by which he is famously known.
Hence he is known as the Bard of Brahmaputra.
