Question

Consider the given statement(s) to be true and decide which of the given conclusions/assumptions can definitely be drawn from the given statement.

Statement:
All that glitters is not gold.
Sujatha wears a gold ornament.

Conclusions:
I) Sujatha's ornament glitters
II) Sujatha’s ornaments do not glitter

This question was previously asked in
SSC CGL 2016 (Tier 1) Previous Year Question Paper (11-Sep-2016) (Shift 2)
The correct answer is

Neither Conclusion I nor II follows

The statement "All that glitters is not gold" implies that glittering does not confirm something is gold, but does not imply the reverse either.
Also, just because Sujatha wears a gold ornament, we cannot determine whether it glitters or not based on the given statement.
Hence, both conclusions are speculative and neither can be definitely drawn.
