Question

Based on the English alphabetical order, three of the following four letter-cluster pairs are alike in a certain way and thus form a group. Which letter-cluster pair DOES NOT belong to that group?

(Note: The odd one out is not based on the number of consonants/vowels or their position in the letter-cluster.)

This question was previously asked in
RRB NTPC 2025 Graduate Level CBT 1 Question Paper (25-Mar-2026) (Shift 3)
The correct answer is

QK-VA

Compare the two clusters in each pair position by position (with wrap-around through the alphabet).

TN → ZD: T(+6)=Z, N(+16)=D. WQ → CG: W(+6)=C, Q(+16)=G. EY → KO: E(+6)=K, Y(+16)=O. These three use the shifts +6 and +16.

QK → VA: Q(+5)=V, K(+16)=A. Here the first letter shifts by +5, not +6, breaking the pattern.

Hence, QK-VA does not belong to the group.
