NIACL AO Eligibility 2026 is set by New India Assurance Company Limited (NIACL) for candidates to be recruited for both Generalist and Specialist Administrative Officer posts. The eligibility criteria include nationality, age limit and educational qualification. Candidates who are Indian nationals, are aged between 21 and 30 years (with applicable relaxations for reserved category candidates), and have a Graduate or Post-Graduation degree from a recognised university are eligible to apply. In NIACL AO 2026 exam, Specialist posts require discipline-specific qualifications such as Legal, Accounts, Health, Automobile Engineering, Risk Engineering, IT, Actuarial, or Rajbhasha. 

NIACL AO Nationality 2026

New India Assurance Company Ltd. (NIACL) requires candidates applying for NIACL AO 2026 must be an Indian citizen, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1 January 1962, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from certain countries (with a Government of India eligibility certificate), intending permanent settlement.

NIACL AO Age Limit 2026

To be eligible for NIACL AO Recruitment 2026, candidates must fall within the prescribed age limit as of August 1, 2026. Candidates must be above the age of 21 years but must be below the age of 30 years. This means that candidates must have been born not earlier than August 2, 1996 and not later than August 1, 2005, both dates inclusive.

NIACL AO Age Relaxation 2026

Candidates from the General category must be within the age limit of 21 to 30 years. For candidates belonging to reserved categories, NIACL has provided relaxation in the upper age limit as given below:

NIACL AO Educational Qualification 2026

In NIACL AO 2026, educational qualification differs for Generalist and Specialist posts. Candidates must have completed their degree from a recognised university/institute and obtained the minimum percentage required as per the category.

NIACL AO Generalist Educational Qualification 2026

To apply for NIACL AO 2026 generalist post, candidates must possess a Graduate or Postgraduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent institution. A minimum of 60% marks is required in the qualifying degree, while SC, ST, and PwBD candidates will receive relaxation with a minimum requirement of 55%. This ensures that only academically qualified candidates participate in NIACL AO 2026 recruitment process.

NIACL AO Specialist Educational Qualification 2026

NIACL has set discipline-wise qualifications for Specialist posts in NIACL AO 2026 as given below:

Risk Engineers
  • Graduate/Postgraduate degree in any branch of Engineering.
  • Minimum marks: 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Candidates with specialisation in risk management or related subjects will be given preference.
Automobile Engineers
  • B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Automobile Engineering.

OR

  • Graduate in any branch of Engineering with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) together with a Diploma (at least one year duration) in Automobile Engineering.
  • Minimum marks: 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Strong knowledge of automobile systems and vehicle safety standards is desirable.
Legal Specialists
  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Law from a recognised university.
  • Minimum marks: 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Candidates must have sound knowledge of legal practices, company law, contracts, and regulatory frameworks.
Accounts Specialists
  • One of the following professional qualifications is acceptable: Chartered Accountant (ICAI), Cost Accountant (ICWAI), MBA (Finance), M.Com.
  • Minimum marks (where applicable): 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Candidates with practical experience in financial reporting, auditing, or taxation may be preferred.
AO (Health)
  • MBBS / MD / MS or PG-Medical Degree

OR

  • B.D.S/ M.D.S

OR 

  • BAMS/BHMS (graduate or post-graduate)
  • Minimum marks: 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Candidates must be registered with the MCI or State Medical Council.
IT Specialists
  • B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Information Technology or Computer Science discipline

OR

  • M.C.A
  • Minimum marks: 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Knowledge of programming, data management, cybersecurity, and software applications is desirable.
Business Analysts
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or Business Analytics from a recognised university.
  • Minimum marks: 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Candidates with analytical or data-driven academic backgrounds may be preferred.
Company Secretary
  • ACS/FCS certification from ICSI.
  • Graduation or Post-graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
Actuarial Specialists
  • Graduate/Postgraduate degree in any discipline with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Must have passed at least 4 actuarial papers from the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) or the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK (IFoA).
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have cleared more papers or have practical actuarial experience.
Rajbhasha (Hindi Officers)
  • Postgraduate degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at the degree level, OR Postgraduate degree in English with Hindi as one of the subjects at the degree level, OR Postgraduate degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at the degree level.
  • Minimum marks: 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Candidates must have a strong command of translation work from English to Hindi and vice versa.

The selection process for NIACL AO 2026 consists of three stages: Prelims, Mains, and an Interview. The Prelims is an online objective-type screening test. Only those who qualify move on to give their NIACL AO Mains exam 2026. The Mains exam includes an objective section and a descriptive section. Shortlisted candidates from Mains are called for a personal Interview. Final selection is based on combined performance in the Mains and Interview.
