CSIR UGC NET Application Form 2020 has been further extended further till June 30, 2020. Application forms were released on March 16, 2020. Candidates desirous of Lectureship or Junior Research Fellowship can fill CSIR UGC NET 2020 Application Form in online mode only at the official website of NTA – csirnet.nta.nic.in. The application fees for General is INR 1000, INR 500 for OBC and EWS and INR 250 for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.

CSIR NET Application Process involves online registration, uploading scanned documents, filling up application form and payment of application fees. Candidates must possess any one of the following degrees – M.Sc, Integrated BS/ MS, BS- 4 years, B.E, B.Tech, B.Pharma, MBBS with at least 55% marks for General/ OBC and EWS category and 50% for SC/ ST and PwD category. Before applying for the exam, candidates must ensure that they satisfy  CSIR UGC NET Eligibility Criteria. 

As per the latest official notice released by CSIR on May 1, 2020 there is no need to upload the documents like Category Certificate, Result awaited attestation form, and other documents while submitting the online application form. How to fill CSIR UGC NET 2020 Application Form?

All the eligible candidates can apply for the examination in online mode only. CSIR NET Application Form will be available at the official website from March 16 – June 30, 2020. 

Steps to Apply for CSIR UGC NET 2020

Candidates can apply for the exam by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: CSIR NET Online Registration

  • Visit csirnet.nta.nic.in, the official website of CSIR UGC NET.
  • Click on the link “Fill Online Application Form” on the homepage of the website.
  • Enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, parents name and contact address.
  • A registration number and password will be sent on your mobile number and email ID.

Step 2: Upload Photograph and Signature

As per the latest official notice released by CSIR, there is no need to upload the documents like Category Certificate, Result awaited attestation form and other documents while submitting the online application form. However, uploading the scanned copy of photograph and signature is still mandatory and without that application form will be considered incomplete. Candidates have to upload scanned images of their passport size photograph and signature in prescribed specifications.

Step 3: Fill CSIR NET 2020 Application Form

Candidates need to enter their qualification, preferred exam center, choice of subject and other relevant details in the application form.

Step 4: Pay CSIR NET Application Fee

Candidates applying for the test have to deposit the application fee in online mode using Syndicate/ SBI/ HDFC/ ICICI bank gateway through Debit/ Credit card/ Netbanking/ UPI and Paytm. No offline mode for fee payment is available. The application fee varies as per candidate’s category as stated in the table below:

Pre-requisites for CSIR UGC NET Registration 2020

The following information and documents are required to fill the application form of CSIR UGC NET 2020:

  • An active email ID
  • A valid mobile number
  • Marksheets of class 10, 12, graduation and post-graduation 
  • Scanned passport size photograph
  • Scanned image of your signature
  • Category/ Disability certificate if applicable
  • Banking details to make the fee payment.

CSIR UGC NET 2020 Eligibility

  • All the aspirants willing to apply for CSIR UGC NET 2020 must be citizens of India.
  • The upper age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years as on July 1, 2020.
  • There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professorship.
  • Candidates must possess any one of the following degrees – M.Sc, Integrated BS/ MS, BS- 4 years, B.E, B.Tech, B.Pharma, MBBS with at least 55% marks for General/ OBC and EWS category and 50% for SC/ ST and PwD category.
  • Candidates enrolled in the above degrees are also eligible for the exam provided they complete the degree within 2 years.

CSIR UGC NET Form Correction

CSIR UGC NET Application Form Correction 2020

  • The last date to make corrections to the application form has been extended till July 20, 2020.
  • NTA will provide a facility of CSIR NET Application Form Correction soon after the completion of registrations.
  • The application form correction facility can be availed in online mode only at the official website – csirnet.nta.nic.in.
  • NTA also sends email and SMS to candidates regarding form and image correction.
  • Candidates will be able to edit/ modify certain fields such as name, parents’ name, date of birth, contact address, category, gender, etc.
  • Candidates have to upload supporting documents to make the changes and pay the difference fees if any.
  • This will be the last chance to edit and correct the application form. No further requests are entertained.

Ques. I have made a mistake in my application form. What can I do?

Ans. NTA will open the application form correction window soon after the registration process. Candidates will get an opportunity to can edit the application form in this period. 

Ques. Can a candidate apply for both JRF and Assistant Professorship?

Ans. Yes, candidates can apply for either JRF or Assistant Professorship or for both provided they fulfil the eligibility. Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria of CSIR UGC NET before applying for the exam.

Ques. What documents have to be uploaded during CSIR NET Registration?

Ans. Candidates have to upload scanned images of their passport size photograph and signature.

Ques. What is the age limit to apply for the exam?

Ans. For JRF, the upper age limit is 28 years as on July 1, 2020, however, age relaxation is given to reserved categories. There is no age limit for Assistant Professorship

Ques. What if, the candidate belongs to the creamy layer of OBC?

Ans. Candidates under the creamy layer of OBC have to apply under General Category.

Hi Arunkarthiheyan, application once registered, cannot be withdrawn. However, you can appear on any of the application number but not on both otherwise, your candidature will get cancelled.

Hi Shilpa, you can follow the general application process as stated above but make sure that you satisfy the age criteria too. Candidates should be maximum 28 years [33 years for SC/ ST/ PwD/ female candidates and 31 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates] as on January 1, 2019 to be eligible to apply for CSIR UGC NET.

Hi Thanveer, it is necessary to be uploaded while filling up the application form failing which, you will be considered as general candidate and will not be able to get any benefits under reservation policies.
