Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission is the authorized agency of the Chhattisgarh government to conduct competitive as well as civil service examinations. Government recruits the candidates who pass this examination for various governmental sectors such as

The examination takes place in 3 stages:

  • Preliminary exam.
  • Main exam.
  • Personality test.

There are General studies questions, Aptitude questions in the first two rounds. These two types of papers cover science, history, language, social studies and many more subjects. Nationality Criteria

There is only one category to this. A candidate must be a citizen of India.

Age Criteria

The candidate must be minimum 21 years of age.

For candidates who are not permanent residents of Chhattisgarh The maximum age of a candidate must be 30 years old
For candidates who are residents of Chhattisgarh There is a 5 years relaxation of age for domiciles/residents of Chhattisgarh.
The maximum age of a candidate must be 35 years old.

Age relaxation criteria

Up to max 5 years If a candidate is a domicile/bonafide Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or OBC as per recorded by Government of Chhattisgarh.
Up to max 3 years If a candidate is of Indian origin and relocated from the following countries:
  • From Burma on or after 1st June 1963
  • From Sri Lanka on or after 1964
  • Or a candidate who migrated from then East Pakistan now Bangladesh in between 1st Jan 1964 and 25th March 1971.
Up to max 8 years If the candidate supra belongs to (ii) and is a Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or OBC as per recorded by Government of Chhattisgarh.
Up to max 5 years If the candidate applying is a window on the first appointment
Up to max 2 years If a candidate owns a Green Card under a family welfare program
Up to max 5 years. Up to 5 years. If the candidate is one of the partners under the inter-caste marriage scheme of inter-caste marriage department for Harijan, Tribal and Backward class welfare as per GAD Memo no. C-1085, dated 3-9-1985.
Up to max 5 years If a candidate is or was a sports person and has been awarded with Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award or Gundhahur Samman or Maharaj Bhanjdev Samman, etc.
Up to 5 max years If a candidate has been in any kind of Military service for at least 5 years
Up to max 8 years If a candidate is filing under a category
Up to max 10 years If a candidate is physically handicapped. (Provided he must submit the needed certificates).

CGPSC 2020 Education Criteria

The minimum education eligibility for CGPSC is that a candidate must be a degree holder from any recognized University under an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India. Degree from Other Educational institutes under an act of parliament or deemed universities are also valid.

The candidates whose examination results are not yet declared but who come under the required educational commission’s criteria are also eligible for the CGPSC examination.

Also, those candidates who have technical and professional knowledge which is recognized by the government as equivalent to a professional degree are also eligible.

Physical and Mental Health Criteria

  • The candidates must undertake the medical examination for their mental and physical health.
  • Any candidate who is not well versed with the requirements of physical fitness will not be appointed for that particular service.
  • Also the candidate's mental health must be in check.
  • There is a particular Height and Chest Criteria as well.

It is very important to fulfil all the eligibility criteria to ensure your selection in the service. Moreover, if you do not fulfil any one of the criteria mentioned above, you will be disqualified later even if you fill up the application form.
