CGPSC (Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission) 2021 Application and Registration

The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission hosts the most competitive civil service examinations in the State. The exams are conducted to recruit candidates for state appointments. The application deadline for all posts has now ended, but the online form correction window is still open for most posts.

Candidates who wish to apply for any of the vacancies must apply to CGPSC, and give the three stages of the examination: the prelims, the mains and the subsequent interview. Applications are accepted only on the official website of CGPSC (http://www.psc.cg.gov.in). Make sure to read the advertisement for each post in detail so that the application process goes smoothly.

  • The application procedure is over.
  • The mode of application is online.
  • The Application Process is: Sign up > Registration > Fill in Educational Details > Upload Photographs > Upload Signature > Payment of Fees.
  • The application fee is INR 400 for General Candidates and INR 300 for Special Category candidates. An additional fee of INR 15 must be paid for using the application portal.
  • Fees can be paid through Credit or Debit Cards, or through Net Banking.

How to Apply for CGPSC 2021?

Here is a step by step instruction on how to apply for any of the examinations conducted by the CGPSC.

Important Points to Note before Registration

  • Scan the photograph and signature before the registration process begins. Make sure that the size and file format are as per the specifications mentioned.
  • Keep the online payment mode (Credit or Debit Card) ready to pay the application fee.
  • Keep your mobile phone charged and at the ready as the details to log in will be sent by SMS.

Step 1: Opening

  • Log on to the official website of CGPSC (http://www.psc.cg.gov.in)
  • Under the “Latest” column, click on “Online Application”.
  • Scroll through the list of examinations and click on the examination you wish to apply for.
  • Now click the second link that is “Click here to Register and Apply Online For...”
  • Click on “Move to Next Step” and then on “Register Now”.

Step 2: Signing Up

  • Submit all of your personal details and other relevant information.
  • Provide your valid email ID along with your mobile number.
  • Click on the Submit Button.
  • The application number and the valid log in ID information will be forwarded to the registered phone number.
  • Note down the application number as it will be used in all future correspondence.

Step 3: Registration and Uploading Documents

  • Login with the application number, username, and password sent to your phone number.
  • Fill in all the educational qualifications as prescribed for the vacancy or post.
  • Upload the passport size photograph which must be in JPG format and maximum 100KB.
  • Upload your signature too which should also be in JPG format and 100KB max.
  • Click on “Preview and Submit”.
  • The aspirants will be now able to check the Preview Application page. Read it thoroughly and check whether all the information is correct or not.
  • Click on Proceed to Payment.

Step 4: Payment of Application Fees

  • The application fee can be paid through:
    • Net Banking
    • Debit Card
    • Credit Card

  • If you are not sure whether the payment has been processed or not, then you can use the login tab to enter into the account again and check the payment status.

Important Notes

  • Make sure to take a print out of the online application form for future use.
  • Your application form might be rejected if:
    • The form is not filled up as per the instructions.
    • Any symbol or special character is inputted on to the page.
    • The photograph is not uploaded as per the specifications.
    • The signature is not uploaded as per the specifications.
  • In case the face in the photograph or signature, the form might also be rejected.
  • The application fee is not refunded at any cost, even if the candidate turns out to be ineligible due to any discrepancy. Hence, thoroughly check your eligibility before applying.
  • To make corrections to the application form, INR 15 will be charged for every time the portal is used.
  • Please make note of the application number as it will be needed for future correspondence.

FAQs

Ques. Can I apply for the Mains exam if I have not qualified the Prelims?

Ans. No. The Main examination is only for those who have sat for and qualified the Preliminary examinations. It is also important to note that the application for the Prelims does not automatically register you for the Mains. You need to repeat the procedure before the Main exam too.

Ques. What happens after the Mains exam?

Ans. If you qualify the Mains exam, you will be invited for a personality test i.e. the interview which is of 150 marks. The test judges the candidate’s mental alertness, clear and logical exposition, critical powers of assimilation, depth of interest, the balance of judgment, etc. The merit list of the candidates will be released according to their total marks obtained in the Mains exam and the personality test.

Ques. I have just qualified 12th grade. Can I apply for the examination?

Ans. No, every candidate must have a bachelor's degree i.e. an undergraduate degree in any discipline from any recognized state or central University.

Ques. Are there any mock tests to prepare for the exam?

Ans. CGPSC offers 1 mock test on their official website which should definitely be given before the examination. The examination is 3 hours long, with 300 marks. To access this test, visit the official website. On the home page itself, scroll down and click on ‘Online Test’.

Ques. Is the State service examination 2019 prelims already over?

Ans. Yes, CGPSC State Service Prelims Exam was conducted on 09 February 2020 in 16 Districts. As per the Result Notice, a total of 3617 candidates have been selected for CGPSC State Service Mains Exam 2020.
