Candidates who wish to apply for any of the vacancies must apply to CGPSC, and give the three stages of the examination: the prelims, the mains and the subsequent interview. Ques. Can I apply for the Mains exam if I have not qualified the Prelims?
Ans. No. The Main examination is only for those who have sat for and qualified the Preliminary examinations. It is also important to note that the application for the Prelims does not automatically register you for the Mains. You need to repeat the procedure before the Main exam too.
Ques. What happens after the Mains exam?
Ans. If you qualify the Mains exam, you will be invited for a personality test i.e. the interview which is of 150 marks. The test judges the candidate’s mental alertness, clear and logical exposition, critical powers of assimilation, depth of interest, the balance of judgment, etc. The merit list of the candidates will be released according to their total marks obtained in the Mains exam and the personality test.
Ques. I have just qualified 12th grade. Can I apply for the examination?
Ans. No, every candidate must have a bachelor's degree i.e. an undergraduate degree in any discipline from any recognized state or central University.
Ques. Are there any mock tests to prepare for the exam?
Ans. CGPSC offers 1 mock test on their official website which should definitely be given before the examination. The examination is 3 hours long, with 300 marks. To access this test, visit the official website. On the home page itself, scroll down and click on ‘Online Test’.
Ques. Is the State service examination 2019 prelims already over?
Ans. Yes, CGPSC State Service Prelims Exam was conducted on 09 February 2020 in 16 Districts. As per the Result Notice, a total of 3617 candidates have been selected for CGPSC State Service Mains Exam 2020.
