BPSC TRE 4.0 Eligibility Criteria 2026 is prescribed by the Bihar Public Service Commission for the School Teacher Recruitment exam under Advertisement No. 14/2026 and covers age, educational qualification, training qualification, the teacher eligibility exam and domicile conditions. Candidates must also fulfil the category-specific conditions, including applicable age relaxation and reservation rules, which are granted only to permanent residents of Bihar. The eligibility conditions are verified through document verification conducted after the result, when the original certificates are demanded. BPSC TRE 4.0 Educational Qualification 2026

BPSC TRE 4.0 candidates must possess the level-wise educational qualification and training qualification prescribed in the advertisement, held on or before the last date of application. The required qualifications and the corresponding qualifying exam are detailed below.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Essential Qualification and Certificate Conditions

BPSC TRE 4.0 certificate conditions are strict on the cut-off date, and candidates should note them carefully because a certificate obtained late cannot be regularized afterwards. Conditions include:

• All certificates relating to educational qualification, training qualification, experience, and the teacher eligibility or competency exam must be held by the last date of application.
• A certificate issued after the last date of application is not accepted.
• If the last date of application is extended, the cut-off date for the eligibility certificates is not extended along with it.
• Only those certificates of educational qualification, training qualification, experience, and the teacher eligibility or competency exam that have been mentioned in the original online application are valid.
• The issue date and the number of every certificate listed in the form must be entered while filling the online application.
• A candidate can choose only that subject in which the teacher eligibility exam has been passed; where a candidate has passed in more than one subject, only one subject may be chosen.
• Candidates must produce the original certificates and marksheets at the time of document verification, as the Commission can demand them at any stage.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Age Limit 2026

BPSC TRE 4.0 age limit is calculated on two different crucial dates. The minimum age for all posts is reckoned as on 01.08.2026, while the maximum age for all posts is reckoned as on 01.08.2024, in light of the letter of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, Bihar, No. 212 dated 23.01.2006. A candidate applying for more than one class must submit one online application for each class, according to the qualification and age prescribed for it.

The maximum age limit is common to all the levels and differs only by category, as reckoned on 01.08.2024.

The age of superannuation for the post is fixed at 60 years. The date of birth entered during the One Time Registration must be the same as recorded in the Matriculation certificate, and the advertisement states that the name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, Aadhaar number, and date of birth entered in the OTR cannot be changed or corrected at any stage.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Age Relaxation 2026

BPSC TRE 4.0 candidates belonging to specified categories can claim relaxation in the upper age limit as prescribed in the advertisement, and the claim has to be supported by the certificate listed against each category.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Age Relaxation Important Points 

• A regular employee of the Bihar Government is permitted a maximum of five attempts in all competitive exams conducted by the Commission taken together, and these five attempts are counted from 12.12.2022 onwards, as per General Administration Department Resolution No. 22218 dated 12.12.2022. Attempts used before that date are disregarded.
• BPSC TRE 4.0 age relaxation is granted only where the claim is made in the designated column of the online application and the prescribed certificate is produced at the time of document verification.
• In the light of the order dated 01.08.2025 of the Supreme Court in SLP (Civil) Diary No. 28464/2025 (LPA No. 1030/2025), Raman Kumar Mandal and others versus the State of Bihar and others, the petitioners concerned are given a one-time opportunity to take part in the selection process under this advertisement despite having crossed the prescribed age limit. This benefit is limited only to those litigants who are directly covered by the concerned case or order.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Eligibility for Reserved Categories

BPSC TRE 4.0 candidates claiming reservation or age relaxation must have the prescribed certificate issued by the competent authority in the format annexed to the advertisement. Certificates in any other format are liable to be rejected. The claim remains provisional until document verification.

BPSC TRE 4.0 reservation is granted only to permanent residents of Bihar and only where the claim is made in the designated column of the online application. Horizontal reservation of 35 percent is provided for women and 4 percent for persons with disabilities. The category-wise minimum qualifying marks are 40 per cent for General, 36.5 per cent for Backward Class, 34 per cent for Extremely Backward Class and 32 per cent for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, women, and persons with disabilities, with the 32 per cent minimum admissible only to candidates domiciled in Bihar.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Eligibility for PwBD Candidates

BPSC TRE 4.0 PwBD eligibility depends on the disability category and on the candidate holding a valid certificate in the prescribed format. Candidates must make the claim in the designated column of the online application and produce the certificate at the time of document verification.

BPSC TRE 4.0 candidates claiming a scribe or any other facility must submit the certificate and affidavit in the annexures prescribed in the advertisement. The claim is treated as provisional until the documents are verified.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Eligibility for Ex-Servicemen, Guest Teachers and Serving Employees

BPSC TRE 4.0 guest teachers can claim a marks weightage, and serving government employees have to satisfy an additional condition before applying.

• Ex-servicemen are given an age relaxation of 3 years along with the period of service rendered in defense service, provided their actual age is not more than 57 years on the date of application.
• Guest teachers are given a weightage of 5 marks for each year of service, subject to a maximum of 25 marks, as per the decision in LPA No. 593 of 2024.
• The weightage claim must be supported by the experience certificate and the appointment letter issued by the District Education Officer.
• Candidates working under the Central Government, the Bihar Government, or any other state government must produce a No Objection Certificate from the competent authority.
• Teachers working under Panchayati Raj or Nagar Nikaya institutions claiming age relaxation must produce the certificate prescribed for them.
• Ex-servicemen claiming age relaxation must produce the certificate prescribed for ex-servicemen.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Scribe and Compensatory Time Rules

BPSC TRE 4.0 eligible candidates with disabilities can avail the scribe facility and the other concessions prescribed in the advertisement. The facility is available only to candidates who fulfil the prescribed requirements and claim it in the online application.

BPSC TRE 4.0 candidates should submit the scribe-related annexures along with the application claim itself, since a facility not claimed in the online application is not provided later.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Physical and Medical Standards

BPSC TRE 4.0 physical and medical standards are not prescribed in Advertisement No. 14/2026. The post of Vidyalaya Adhyapak carries no height, chest, weight, or visual standard, and no physical efficiency test or medical exam forms part of the selection process.

Candidates should therefore note that eligibility for BPSC TRE 4.0 rests entirely on age, educational qualification, training qualification, and the teacher eligibility exam, and not on any physical standard.

Can Candidates Apply for Multiple Levels in BPSC TRE 4.0 2026?

BPSC TRE 4.0 2026 allows a candidate to apply for more than one class level, but each level requires its own application and its own fee.

• A candidate applying for more than one class must submit one online application for each class, according to the qualification and age prescribed for it.
• A separate exam fee of ₹100 has to be deposited for each class applied for.
• A biometric fee of ₹200 applies to candidates who do not enter the Aadhaar number as identity proof in the online application.
• After the fee is paid, the selected post or subject cannot be removed, and no new post or subject can be added; the application has to be cancelled and the payment process completed afresh.
• A candidate can choose only that subject in which the teacher eligibility exam has been passed, and only one subject may be chosen even where more than one has been passed.
• Candidates select from among the 38 districts of Bihar in the online application, and the result is published only for the districts opted for.
