BPSC TRE 4.0 Application Process 2026 has started on September 25, 2026, for 32,388 school teacher posts. The application window will remain open till October 26, 2026, while the fee payment deadline is October 25, 2026. BPSC has revised the application schedule through the latest notification. BPSC TRE 4.0 exam dates have not been announced yet. As per BPSC exam calendar, the date of the Preliminary Test will be published after completion of the advertisement period.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Major Changes 2026

BPSC has introduced several changes in the recruitment and BPSC TRE 4.0 2026 application process.

• Negative Marking: ⅓ mark for each wrong or unanswered/multiple-marked question.
• Answer Options: Five options (A–E), with E for not attempting.
• No Interview: Selection is based only on the written exam.
• No Re-evaluation: Answer sheets cannot be re-evaluated.
• Application Fee: ₹100 per class-level category.
• OTR: Fresh registration is required on the new portal, including previous registrants.
• DigiLocker: Documents and identity will be verified through Meri Pehchaan.
• Biometric Fee: ₹200 if Aadhaar is not used as identity proof.
• BSEB Unique ID: Required instead of the STET result card number; CTET candidates must enter certificate/marksheet details.
• Exam Phases: The exam may be held in multiple phases.
• Vacancies: The final number may increase or decrease based on requisitions.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Application Fee 2026

BPSC TRE 4.0 candidates have to pay the prescribed application fee while submitting the application form. The exam fee is ₹100 per class-level category, while candidates who do not provide their Aadhaar number may have to pay an additional ₹200 biometric fee.

Note: candidates applying for more than one teaching level pay the prescribed exam fee separately for each applicable class-level category.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Registration Process

BPSC TRE 4.0 registration involves completing OTR, optional DigiLocker integration, and a six-step candidate profile before applying.

One-Time Registration (OTR):

• Complete OTR through New User Registration on bpsconline.bihar.gov.in.
• OTR creates the candidate profile; it is not the application form.
• A valid email ID and mobile number are required for OTP verification.
• Only one OTR is allowed per candidate. Multiple registrations may lead to cancellation.
• Candidates registered on the earlier BPSC portal must complete OTR again on the new portal.

DigiLocker Integration:

• After OTR, candidates can use DigiLocker's Meri Pehchaan portal to link documents.
• DigiLocker integration is optional; candidates can skip it and continue with the application.

Profile Creation:

BPSC TRE 4.0 candidates must complete these six steps:

1. Personal Information: Category, disability, sports quota, and other applicable details.
2. Address Information: Permanent and correspondence address.
3. Other Information: Criminal case declaration, if applicable.
4. Qualification Information: Academic details from Class 10 onwards.
5. Experience Information: Relevant work experience, if applicable.
6. Photo, Signature & Profile Lock: Upload the required photo and Hindi/English signatures, then submit and lock the profile.

After the profile is locked, TRE 4.0 appears under Active Advertisements, allowing candidates to proceed with fee payment and application submission.

BPSC TRE Primary Teacher Eligibility 2026

BPSC TRE 4.0 2026 candidates applying for Classes 1–5 must be at least 18 years old as on August 1, 2026. Eligible qualification routes include:

• Senior Secondary with the prescribed marks + 2-year D.El.Ed/B.El.Ed or 2-year Diploma in Special Education.
• Graduation with the prescribed marks + 2-year D.El.Ed or 1-year B.Ed.
• CTET Paper-I or Bihar TET Paper-I is required.
• Separate qualification rules apply to Urdu and Bangla teacher posts.

BPSC TRE Middle School Teacher Eligibility 2026

BPSC TRE 4.0 2026 candidates for Classes 6–8 must be at least 18 years old as on August 1, 2026.

Language, Social Science, Mathematics and Science posts have separate subject-combination requirements.

BPSC TRE Secondary Teacher Eligibility 2026

BPSC TRE 4.0 2026 candidates applying for Classes 9–10 must be at least 21 years old as on August 1, 2026.

Separate subject requirements apply to Maths, Science, Social Science, Physical Education, Music, Fine Arts and Dance posts.

BPSC TRE Senior Secondary Teacher Eligibility 2026

BPSC TRE 4.0 candidates applying for Classes 11–12 must be at least 21 years old as on August 1, 2026.

For Computer Science, B.Ed is not mandatory, and specific degree/diploma routes are prescribed. Commerce recruitment covers EPS, Accountancy and Business Studies, with STET subject-wise eligibility rules.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Age Limit 2026

BPSC TRE 4.0 2-26 minimum age is calculated as on August 1, 2026, while the maximum age is calculated as on August 1, 2024.

The minimum age is 18 years for primary/middle school posts and 21 years for secondary/senior secondary posts. The superannuation age is 60 years. Age relaxation applies to eligible government employees, PwBD candidates, ex-servicemen, Panchayati Raj/Nagar Nikay teachers, and candidates covered by specific court orders, as prescribed in the notification.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Qualifying Marks

The 32% qualifying requirement applies to eligible Bihar-domiciled candidates in the specified categories. Candidates from outside Bihar are considered against the general-category qualifying requirement.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Reservation Categories & Codes

Horizontal reservation includes provisions for women, PwBD, transgender candidates and eligible freedom fighters' descendants, as prescribed. Reservation benefits are applicable to candidates meeting the Bihar domicile requirements. Teachers appointed before 2012 who have passed the departmental competency (Dakshata) exam are exempt from the TET requirement. Candidates awaiting the next STET may also apply if otherwise eligible, but their written-exam admit card will be issued only after qualifying the required STET.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Document Verification

The appointing authority (Education Department) is required to verify all original certificates — educational, professional, and teacher-eligibility-test proofs, before finalising appointment. If any certificate is found forged or incorrect, the appointment is cancelled, the salary already paid is recovered, and legal action follows under the Bihar and Odisha Public Demands Recovery Act, 1914.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Salary 2026

BPSC TRE 4.0 teachers receive a basic salary along with applicable allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other benefits. The basic pay varies according to the teaching level.
