The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released 421 vacancies for the UPSC EPFO recruitment of Enforcement Officer/Accounts Officer, Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, Ministry of Labour and Employment. Before applying for UPSC EPFO, candidates should check the eligibility criteria to ensure whether they are eligible for the exam.

The UPSC EPFO eligibility criteria are as under. Only those candidates who meet these criteria should go ahead and apply for the exam:

  • Nationality

A Candidate must be either:

  1. a citizen of India, or
  2. a subject of Nepal, or
  3. a subject of Bhutan, or
  4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 01, 1962, to permanently settle in India, or
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Note:

The application of a candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be considered by the Commission and, if recommended for appointment, the candidate may also be provisionally appointed subject to the necessary certificate being issued in his favour by the Government of India.

Category Age Relaxation
SC/ST Upto 5 years
OBC Upto 3 years
Employees of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Upto 5 years
Ex-Servicemen Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers including ECOs/SSCOs shall be relaxed by five years subject to the condition that on the closing date for receipt of applications the continuous service rendered in the Armed Forces by an Ex-Serviceman is not less than six months after attestation.
Central Government employees Up to 5 years as per instructions issued by the Govt. of India from time to time. (10 years for SC/ST and 8 years for OBC)
Persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of J&K during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989 Upto 5 years
Physically Handicapped (PH) persons Upto 10 years
Physically Handicapped (PH) SC / ST candidates  Upto 15 years
Physically Handicapped (PH) OBC candidates Upto 13 years
  • Educational Qualifications

Essential Educational Qualifications

  1. Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the competent Authority/ Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
  2. Qualifications(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Competent Authority/ Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection the competent Authority/ Union Public Service Commission believes that a sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.

Desirable Educational Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Law/Integrated Five years Degree in Law/ Masters in Business Administration/ Post Graduate Diploma in Management/ Company Secretary/ Chartered Accountants/ Cost and Management Accountant.
  2. Two years of experience in Administration/ Accounts/ Legal Matters in any government or Listed – Private Organisation.

No, a final year student can not apply for UPSC EPFO examination. The eligible candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Law/Integrated Five years Degree in Law/ Masters in Business Administration/ Post Graduate Diploma in Management/ Company Secretary/ Chartered Accountants/ Cost and Management Accountant along with two years of experience in Administration/ Accounts/ Legal Matters in any government or Listed – Private Organisation. What is the AGE LIMIT for UPSC EPFO 2020 Recruitment as per the Official Notification?

Hi mohammed. The maximum age limit is 30 years. Candidates having Bachelor Degree in any Stream in any Recognized University in India can apply for this exam.
