TNTET Application Form 2020 will be made available from May 4, 2020. Candidates will be able to register for TNTET 2020 in online mode by filling the application form at the official website – trb.tn.nic.in. Last day of TNTET Registration will be June 4, 2020.
Candidates must check the eligibility before applying for the exam. The application fees are INR 500 for General, OBC and EWS categories and INR 250 for SC, ST and PwD candidates.

To fill TNTET application form, candidates have to perform 4 major steps:
- Filling TET Online Application Form,
- Scanning and Uploading Images,
- Fee Payment and
- Downloading Confirmation Page.
Successfully registered candidates will be issued TNTET Admit Card in June 2020.

TNTET 2020 Eligibility
The minimum requirement to appear for TNTET 2020 is given below:
Education Qualification
Paper 1 (for classes I – V)
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). (OR)
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. (OR)
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). (OR)
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education). (OR)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). (OR)
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,).
- Candidates who are visually impaired are not eligible to write Paper I.
Note: The candidates who have passed D.T.Ed., /D.Ele.Ed., from States other than Tamil Nadu, should submit evaluation certificate for such qualifications. Check TNTET Syllabus
Training to be undergone:
- A person who has acquired the qualification of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,), from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V, provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within 2 years of such appointment as primary teacher.
- A person with D.Ed., (Special Education) or B.Ed., (Special Education) qualification shall undergo, after appointment, an NCTE recognized 6 months special programme in Elementary Education;
- In case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed., (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
Paper 2 (for classes VI – VIII)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). (OR)
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). (OR)
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations. (OR)
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). (OR)
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed. (OR)
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.Ed. (Special Education).
Note: Any candidate having qualified a B.Ed. program, recognized by the NCTE, is eligible to appear in TET. Moreover, as per existing TET guidelines, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) is also qualified to appear in TNTET Exam.
How to Fill TNTET Online Form 2020?
For the next year, the interested applicants can refer to the following procedure for filling the form.
Candidates are required to log in to trb.tn.nic.in to fill the application form. Click on the link ‘Apply Online’ and you will be redirected to an instructions page. Read all the basic instructions explaining the application procedure. After reading the instructions carefully, click on the ‘Proceed to Apply Online’ link.
Pre-requisites for TET Registration

- ID proof (PAN card/ Aadhaar Card/ Driving License)
- Passport size photograph and signature as per the specifications

Step 1: Filling TNTET Application Form
- Applicants must fill in all the details asked carefully.
- Click on the ‘Next’ button.
- There is also a ‘Reset’ button if you wish to edit the filled in information.
- After clicking on the ‘Next’ button, candidates will be directed to a Review Page.
- Once done, click on the ‘Final Submit’ button.
Note: A registration number will be issued at this stage. Note down this number and keep it safe.

Step 2: Uploading Documents

Step 3: Payment of Application Fee
Upon successfully uploading the scanned images of the photograph and the signature, you will be automatically directed to the payment page. Pay the examination fee via online mode (NetBanking/ Credit/ Debit Card). The category-wise application fee is given below:

Note(s):
- The fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- The fee cannot be paid via any offline mode (DD/ Postal order etc).
- Candidates who want to appear for both Paper 1 and 2, should pay the fee separately.
Step 4: Print the Confirmation Page
- After making the payment, proceed to the page where you can download the Confirmation Page.
- One must keep this Confirmation Page along with the copy of the fee receipt safely.
TNTET Form Correction
-Candidates are strictly advised to fill in the online application form with utmost care.
- There is no provision to make any changes in the form after it has been submitted.
Important Instructions
- Incomplete application forms will be outrightly rejected.
- If the subject option is not mentioned, the application will be rejected.
- A passport size photograph should be uploaded in the space provided. Make sure that the photograph is not attested and is free from any mark, as the same has to be used for printing the Hall Tickets.
- As the form is computer readable and pre-programmed, any information typed outside the fields provided will not be read by the computer. Hence, altering the form or adding any additional box will result in making your applications invalid.
- A photocopy of the filled-in and signed application form with acknowledgement may be preserved for any future reference.
- Application Forms will not be accepted by the concerned District Educational Office after April 12, 2020 by 5.00 P.M.
- DO NOT send the filled-in Application Form directly to the Teachers Recruitment Board. Such applications shall not be accepted and they will be rejected.
