SSC GD 2021 notification will be released in the month of December 2020 and will be open till January 2021. The application fees are INR 100/- for general category while female and SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from any application fee.

SSC GD 2021 Eligibility Criteria

For the post of general duty constable, the basic eligibility criteria include educational qualification and age limit. The detailed eligibility criteria have been mentioned below :

  • Nationality: Candidate should be a citizen of India
  • Age Limit: Candidate must be of the age between 18 and 23
  • Educational Qualification: Candidate must have cleared Class 10th from a recognised board. Candidates appearing for Class 10th exam are not eligible

  • The maximum age of candidates allowed is 23.
  • However, certain age relaxations are provided for the reserved categories as per the government norms which are discussed in the table below :

SSC GD 2021 Application Process

Step 1: Registration

  • The registration process is only for candidates registering for the first time. Candidates need to visit the official webpage and click on the ‘Register Now’ button.
  • Fill in the basic details such as name, date of birth and contact details.
  • All the details should be filled as per the details in matriculation certificate
  • Next, fill the Aadhaar Card Number, Identity Card and its number
  • The candidates have to fill their matriculation details such as: Education Board, Roll Number and Year of Passing
  • Enter gender, highest educational qualification, mobile number and email ID
  • Next, the candidates have to confirm their mobile number and email ID
  • A Registration ID and password will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID
  • Proceed towards filling other details by clicking on the ‘Next’ button
  • Fill the nationality, category, identification mark, permanent and temporary address.
  • Upload photograph, signature and left thumb impression
  • After clicking ‘Final Submit’ button, different OTPs are sent on mobile number as well as email ID
  • Candidates are required to enter both the OTPs to successfully complete the registration process

NOTE :

  1. After submission, if the registration process is not completed in 7 days, the data will be deleted from the system
  2. The basic details can be changed only once after the completion of the registration process

Step 2: Application Form

  • To fill in the application form, candidates have to login into their account using registered ID and password
  • Under the ‘Latest Notifications’ tab, click on the ‘Apply’ button in the SSC GD Constable section
  • Information filled during the registration process will be auto-filled and can’t be edited
  • Choose up to three exam centres in order of preference.
  • Select Domicile State / UT and District of Domicile
  • Give preference of CAPFs / Organizations
  • Pay the application fee through online mode of payment or through SBI Challan

  • The payment can be made by using Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / Mobile Wallets or through SBI Challan
  • Mode of paying the application fee is online as well as offline
  • For online payment mode, an e-receipt will be generated after successful payment

It is advisable to download the admit card within a few days after it is released which will save you from the last-minute hustle. Candidates won’t be allowed inside the exam centre without a hard copy of their admit card. The stepwise procedure to download the admit card is as follows :

  • Visit the official website of SSC i.e. https://ssc.nic.in/
  • Click on the ‘Admit Card’ tab on the homepage
  • Select your region (e.g, Eastern, Northern, etc)
  • The link to download the admit card will be displayed
  • Click on the link and enter the required credentials (Username and Password)
  • The admit card will open up in a separate window
  • Download and save the admit card. A print out of the admit card should be taken out as the hard copy of the admit card is necessary.

At the time of filling the application form, candidates have to enter three exam centres as per their preference. The exam is conducted in almost every major city across the nation.

Candidates will be given the exam centre as per their preference in the application and the same will reflect in the admit card. The list of exam centres is displayed while filling the application form and candidates can choose from the same.

  • The selection criteria of SSC GD consists of following steps: Computer-based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) and Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
  • The computer-based examination is carried out in an online mode
  • There is no negative marking for wrong answers in CBE
  • Candidates who clear CBE are eligible to appear for PET and PST
  • As a final, a detailed medical examination is carried out by a senior official.

SSC GD 2021 CBE Exam Pattern

It is an objective type paper conducted in online mode with no negative marking. It is conducted only in two languages: English and Hindi.

Physical Efficiency Test

Candidates who have cleared CBE can appear for PET. In order to test the physical efficiency of candidates, they have to complete a race as per the norms. The criteria followed is :

  • Male Candidates: 5 km in 24 minutes
  • Female Candidates: 1.6 km in 8 ½ minutes

For candidates of Ladakh Region :

  • Male Candidates: 1 mile in 6 ½ minutes
  • Female Candidates: 800 metres in 4 minutes

Physical Standard Test

Under this test, the physical standards of the candidates are tested on the basis of three factors:
