SSC CHSL Application Form 2020 is now available at the official website – ssc.nic.in. Candidates can register for the recruitment exam in onine mode only. Candidates can fill SSC CHSL 2020 Application Form from December 3, 2019 – January 12, 2020.  

  • SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria varies for Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Data Entry Operators (DEO) and Postal Assistant. Hence, aspirants must ensure that they satisfy the criteria before applying for the exam.
  • SSC CHSL Application Form can be filled in four steps- Registration, Uploading Documents, Form Filling and Fee Payment. Check SSC CHSL Photo and Signature Requirements
  • SSC CHSL Application Fees can be paid in online mode till January 12, 2020 via BHIM UPI, Netbanking, Debit Card or Credit Card and in offline mode till January 14, 2020 by paying cash in any SBI Bank branch. However, for cash payment, bank challan has to be generated online by January 12, 2020 (11:59 PM).
  • The application fees is INR 100, however, Women, SC, ST, PwD and Exservicemen are exempted from fee payment.
  • Only eligible and successfully registered candidates will be issued SSC CHSL 2020 Admit Card in February 2020.

SSC CHSL 2020 Eligibility

Before applying for SSC CHSL 2020candidates must make sure that they fulfill eligibility criteria laid down by SSC as only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear for the exam. The eligibility criteria is as follows:

Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian Citizen or should belong to Nepal/ Bhutan or Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 to settle in India permanently. 

Educational Criteria: candidates must have cleared or appearing class 12 or its equivalent from a recognized educational board.

Age Criteria: candidate,s age must be between 18 – 27 years as on January 1, 2020, however, age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories as per Indian government norms.

How to fill SSC CHSL Application Form 2020?

SSC CHSL 2020 Application Form is available from December 3, 2020. Interested candidates can register for Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination on the official website of SSC in online mode.

Pre-requisites for SSC CHSL Registration 2020

Applicants must keep the following documents/ details handy as it will be required during SSC CHSL 2020 Registration:

  • Mobile Number (to be verified through OTP)
  • Email ID (to be verified through OTP)
  • Aadhaar Number/ Voter ID Card/ PAN/ Passport/ Driving License or School/ College/ Employer ID (You will be required to show the original document at a later stage)
  • Class 10 Board, Roll Number and Year of Passing.
  • Scanned colour passport size photograph in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB) with dimensions 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
  • Scanned signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB) with dimensions 4.0 cm (width) x 3.0 cm (height).
  • Disability Certificate Number, if you are a person with benchmark disability.

Steps to fill SSC CHSL 2020 Application Form

Candidates are advised to carefully go through the official SSC CHSL 2020 Notification Brochure before beginning with the application process. Follow the steps given below to fill SSC CHSL Application Form 2020:

Step 1: SSC CHSL 2020 Registration

  • Go to ssc.nic.in.
  • Click on the “Apply” tab and then on SSC CHSL.
  • The following window will open on the screen.

  • Enter your Aadhaar number or any other photo ID proof number, Name, Father’s name, Mother’s name, date of birth, Class 10 board name, roll number and year of passing, gender, level of education, permanent address, mobile number and email ID.
  • Enter the OTPs to confirm your mobile number and email ID.
  • Your Registration number and password will be sent to you on your contact details.

Step 2: Upload Photo and Signature

Candidates have to upload scanned images of their recent passport size photograph and signature in the application form in following specifications:

Step 3: Fill SSC CHSL Application Form 2020

The registration process completes after uploading images. Fill the application form by entering communication details, educational details, etc.

  • Enter your category, nationality and visible identification mark, if any.
  • Indicate your medium of typing test and 3 exam center city in order of preference.
  • Accept the declaration by clicking on “I Agree”.

Step 4: Pay SSC CHSL Application Fee

SSC CHSL Application Fees is INR 100 which can be paid via online and offline mode. Applicants can remit the fee in online mode till January 12, 2020 (11:59 PM) and in offline mode till January 14, 2020 during banking hours. However, the challan for offline fee payment has to be downloaded by January 12, 2020 (11:59 PM).

Online Mode: Use BHIM UPI, Net Banking or Visa/ Mastercard/ Maestro Credit/ Debit card

Offline Mode: Download SBI Challan from the web portal and submit the same with cash in any SBI Bank branch during working hours.

Note: Female and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD, Ex-servicemen are exempted from paying the application fee.

SSC CHSL Photo and Signature Specifications 2020

The documents- passport size photograph and signature, must be uploaded keeping in mind the specifications as mentioned below:

Photo Details: While uploading the photo for the application form go through the specifications required. Here is the list of important pointers on this subject:

  • Photo size: 20 kb to 50 kb
  • Photo dimension: 3.5 cm (width) X 4.5 cm (Height)
  • Photo background: White
  • Photograph resolution: 100 X 120 pixels
  • Photograph Format: JPG only

Signature Details: Along with the photo, candidates are also required to attach scanned images of signature. The specifications are listed below:

  • Signature image size: 10 kb to 20 kb
  • Signature dimension: 4 cm (width) X 3 cm (Height)
  • Signature resolution: 140 X 60 pixels
  • Image Format: JPG only
  • Signature Background: White
  • Signature Style:  Signature must be done by the candidate with a running hand

SSC CHSL 2020 Application Form FAQs

Ques.  I want to edit some information in the registration form. Can I do it now?

Ans. You can edit your registration details twice by clicking on “View/Edit Registration.” But you cannot make any changes once you submit  application form. Also, no window for form correction is expected to be available as of now.

Ques.  What is the minimum required marks to apply for LDC Online?

Ans. There is no specific percentage as per the official notification. You just have to possess a pass certificate of class 12.

Ques.  I lost the offline bank challan. Can I reprint it?

Ans. Yes, you can reprint your bank challan for offline fee payment by visiting the official website. Just click on “Download Offline Challan” and it will appear on your screen.

Ques.  Can I download challan before completing SSC CHSL Application Form 2020?

Ans. Unfortunately, the challan will be available for download after you complete the application process. Once done, download the challan and visit your nearest SBI branch to make payment.

Ques.  My Fee payment status still shows pending, it has been two days already. What should I do?

Ans. Worry not, your payment status will be updated within 3 working days from the day of payment. Once updated, you can download the application form from the given link.

Ques. My link got disconnected while I was making payment. What should I do now?

Ans. You can retry the procedure and make payment via SBI debit card/ credit card or net banking. You can also go for offline mode by downloading SBI Bank Challan.

Hi Ramandeep, yes, you can apply for this exam in next session provided you do not exceed the upper age limit as prescribed by SSC.

I am under BC category, and my DOB is 06.02.1990 so next month I am going to turn up 30yrs old.So am I eligible to apply for SSCCHSL examination. Is there any age relaxation for me?

Hi Benitha, if you belong to SC/ST category, then only you will be eligible for this exam as candidates from SC/ST category can apply for this exam till 32 years of age. You can check other Eligibility Criteria for the exam from here.
