The correct answer is

Store CO₂ in vegetation and soil

A carbon sink is a natural or artificial reservoir that absorbs and stores more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than it releases. Forests, soils, oceans and wetlands are the major natural sinks.

India's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) under the Paris Agreement include a commitment to create an additional carbon sink of 2.5 to 3 billion tonnes of CO₂ equivalent through additional forest and tree cover by 2030. Carbon Sink Enhancement therefore means storing CO₂ in vegetation and soil through afforestation, reforestation and improved land-management — a key climate-mitigation strategy.

Options A, C and D would increase emissions or reduce sink capacity, contrary to climate goals.

Hence, the answer is option B.
