Which one of the following revolutionaries was not associated with the assassination of J.P. Saunders in 1928 ?
Ram Prasad Bismil
Lala Lajpat Rai died in November 1928 after a police lathi-charge during the protest against the Simon Commission at Lahore. Members of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association decided to avenge his death.
On 17 December 1928 at Lahore, Bhagat Singh and Shivaram Rajguru shot Assistant Superintendent of Police J.P. Saunders (mistaken for J.A. Scott), and Chandrashekhar Azad covered their escape, shooting the constable Chanan Singh who chased them. All three were therefore directly involved.
Ram Prasad Bismil had been hanged at Gorakhpur jail on 19 December 1927 for the Kakori train action, a year before the Saunders killing, so he could not have taken part in it.
