Which one is parameter from population?

This question was previously asked in

The correct answer is \(\sigma\)

Population characteristics are called parameters (Greek letters); sample characteristics are called statistics (Roman letters).

\(\bar{X}\) is the sample mean, \(S\) is the sample standard deviation, and \(p\) denotes the sample proportion — all statistics. Only \(\sigma\), the population standard deviation, is a parameter from the population.
