UPSSSC PET 2026 Question Paper (01-Nov-2026) (Shift-2)
The correct answer is

Prayag Prashasti

A prashasti is a eulogy inscribed in praise of a ruler. The main source for Samudragupta's reign is the inscription composed by his court poet Harishena and engraved on the Ashokan pillar at Allahabad (Prayagraj).

This Prayag Prashasti lists his conquests: the uprooting of the kings of Aryavarta, the capture and release of the kings of Dakshinapatha, the subjugation of the forest kingdoms (atavika rajyas), and the tribute paid by frontier states and foreign rulers.

The Aihole inscription was composed by Ravikirti for the Chalukya king Pulakeshin II. The Junagadh inscription records the Shaka ruler Rudradaman I and the repair of the Sudarshana lake. The Nasik Prashasti was issued by Gautami Balashri in praise of the Satavahana king Gautamiputra Satakarni.

Because the correct inscription is among the listed choices, the remaining choice does not apply.

Prayag Prashasti option is correct.
