Which ancient university was founded during the reign of the Gupta emperor Kumaragupta I ?
Nalanda
Kumaragupta I (c. 415–455 CE), son of Chandragupta II, ruled the Gupta Empire at its height. Seals and later records credit him with founding the great Buddhist monastic university (mahavihara) at Nalanda in present-day Bihar in the 5th century CE.
Nalanda grew into a leading centre of learning in Asia; the Chinese pilgrim Xuanzang studied there in the 7th century, and it received patronage from Harshavardhana and the Pala kings before it was destroyed by Bakhtiyar Khalji's forces around 1193.
Vikramashila was founded by the Pala king Dharmapala in the late 8th century; Takshashila in Gandhara flourished centuries before the Guptas; and Vallabhi in Gujarat flourished under the Maitraka dynasty. None of them was founded by Kumaragupta I, and since the right university is listed, 'None of the above' does not apply.
