Which of the following committees recommended the establishment of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) ?
B. Sivaraman Committee
NABARD was set up on 12 July 1982 by an Act of Parliament as the apex development bank for agriculture and rural credit, taking over the agricultural credit functions of the RBI and the refinance role of the Agricultural Refinance and Development Corporation.
Its creation was recommended by the Committee to Review Arrangements for Institutional Credit for Agriculture and Rural Development (CRAFICARD), constituted by the RBI in 1979 under the chairmanship of B. Sivaraman.
The Narasimham committees dealt with financial and banking sector reforms, the A.M. Khusro committee reviewed the agricultural credit system in 1989, and Y.V. Reddy was an RBI Governor, not linked to NABARD's founding.
Hence, B. Sivaraman Committee.
