At the Sun-Earth L1 point in a halo orbit
Aditya-L1 is ISRO’s first space-based solar observatory, launched on 2 September 2023 by PSLV-C57.
It was inserted into a halo orbit around Lagrange point L1 of the Sun-Earth system on 6 January 2024, about 1.5 million km from Earth towards the Sun.
From L1 it can watch the Sun continuously without eclipses or occultations.
Sun-Earth L2 lies on the far side of Earth (where the James Webb Space Telescope is), and Earth-Moon or Mars-Sun points are not its destination.
Hence, At the Sun-Earth L1 point in a halo orbit.
